Recent traffic gridlock mess. I left Ellesmere & Markham in Scarborough at 4:30. I reached Port Credit at 6:45 – normally a 50 minute drive. Hopeless traffic gridlock in Toronto, blocked lanes. It’s deliberate. Car haters have made war on the automobile.
Three causes:
1. 40 years of uncontrolled immigration — 125,000 a year into the GTA.
2. Failure of governments to build the necessary roads & expressway.
3. Car restricting measures: bicycle lanes, reduced parking, speed bumps.
