Thanks for seeking my opinions. Here are my responses.
Community Connection & Belonging
- Have you participated in 2SLGBTQIA+ community events in Hamilton, and have you attended Pride at the Pier? NO
- What does meaningful support for Hamilton’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community look like to you, and how would you ensure that community members have a voice in municipal decision-making? I believe in fair treatment for all and special privileges for. LGBTQ groups are free to lobby council and come as delegations to council meetings to air concerns.
Equity, Safety & Community Resources
- Community events and organizations do not always have equal access to municipal funding, resources, or event support. What would you do to make City funding and support more equitable for 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations and events? The LGBTQ community should raise its own funds. Taxpayers should not have to pay for special interest groups.
- What actions would you prioritize to help make Hamilton safer for 2SLGBTQIA+ residents, particularly those experiencing harassment, discrimination, or hate, and how would you measure whether those actions are working? All citizens should be safe. The city has no power over employment discrimination. “Hate” is a much abused word, usually meaning opinions that the accuser hates. I oppose any attempts to stifle free speech, expressing opinions. Verbal threats are already against the Criminal Code.
- What role should the City play in supporting lasting, safe, and accessible spaces where 2SLGBTQIA+ people can gather, access services, celebrate their identities, and build community? Are there particular initiatives you would support in Hamilton? The City should treat all groups equally. It’s not up to the taxpayer to help groups “celebrate their identity.”
Municipal Action & Accountability
- How would you use municipal policies, programs, partnerships, and infrastructure investments to reduce barriers faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ residents, including in housing, accessibility, and access to public spaces and services? What barriers? LGBTQ groups are free to access public services. Taxpayers are fed up with funding and promoting special interest groups.

- If elected, what is one specific action you would commit to advancing during your term to improve Hamilton for 2SLGBTQIA+ constituents and students? Equal treatment for all; special privileges for none. And just to be perfectly clear, only the flags of Canada, the 10 provinces, three territories and Hamilton should fly at City Hall.
