When is an “All Candidates” Meeting Not an ALL Candidates Meeting? When CUPE Holds It
The Canadian Union of Public Employees advertized an “all candidates” BBQ at their 818 King St. union hall. I accepted the invitation and attended. There were about 20 people in their parking lot. I was welcomed at the reception table. Soon, their manager came over and told me I must leave. “It would be bad for optics,” she said. So much for “all candidates” in Hamilton leftie circles.
